Show Overview

'Mamma Mia' has become one of the most popular and most talked about shows in the West End. It offers the chance for audience members to laugh and sing along with the superb cast as they sing and dance their way through a score of some of the greatest Abba hits including 'Dancing Queen', 'Mamma Mia', 'Knowing Me Knowing You', 'Thank you for the Music', 'SOS' and many many more!

It is a story about Sophie, a young girl on the eve of her wedding. She lives on an idyllic Greek island with her mum Donna but she has hatched a plan that Donna knows nothing about. After finding her mother's old diary, Sophie invites 3 men; 3 possible fathers to attend the wedding and walk her down the aisle but their arrival brings anguish rather than happiness, regret rather than relief and frustration rather than fulfilment.

Despite Sophie's uneasy quest, there is a lot of laughter in Mamma Mia in particular with the arrival of Donna's old school friends, Rosie and Tanya, both of whom have their baggage. Together with Donna, they were once 'Donna and the Dynamo's' and this an opportunity for some wonderfully camp choreography and Abba revival moments!

Sophie never does get married but Donna's love affair with Sam is reignited and they say 'I Do, I Do, I Do...' whilst Rosie persuades Bill to 'Take a Chance' on her...

The storyline of 'Mamma Mia' is warm and sometimes touching but there are some really wonderful comic moments to enjoy too. And there is corn in abundance, but not to the detriment of this show; rather, you  knowingly and happily get swept along on the huge wave of simplicity that is 'Mamm Mia'.

A must see production for the whole family.
