Blood Brothers is a musical

Show Overview

'Blood Brothers' is now in its' 21st year in the West End and continues to be one of the best loved musicals, picking up numerous awards including four for London's best musical and seven Tony Award nominations on Broadway.

Written by legendary Willy Russell, it tells the story of two Liverpaudlian twins separated at birth. Each brother is bought up in radically different social environments and years later meet again, with tragic consequences.

The story has a contemporary theme of nature versus nurture running through it, with one brother privilidged and indulged with an Oxford education and the other bought up with no luxuries and ultimately no job and a future in prison.

The tragedy in this play occurs when the two brothers meet without knowing they are twins, and become great friends despite their differences. But then they fall in love with the same woman and their friendship is pushed to the point that neither are able to come back from.

This musical drama really has it all and has gained something of a cult following; a must see production.
